FAQ

Questions we hear every week.

Plain answers, no jargon. If yours is not here, ask us directly. Someone who actually books cargo will answer, not a bot.

General

What does a freight forwarder actually do?+

Think of us as your shipping department, hired by the job. We book the vessel or aircraft, arrange trucking, prepare and check documents, clear customs, insure the cargo, and watch the shipment until it arrives. You deal with one team instead of a chain of carriers, truckers, and brokers who do not talk to each other.

Which countries do you ship to?+

Anywhere your buyer names. Our strongest lanes run from Chattogram to Europe, the Mediterranean, and North America through hubs at Colombo, Singapore, Port Klang, and Tanjung Pelepas. Sea-air lanes run through Colombo, Dubai, and Malé. If the port exists, we can route to it.

Do you handle imports into Bangladesh as well as exports?+

Yes. The same network runs both ways. We bring in raw materials, machinery, and finished goods, and we clear them at Chattogram port and Dhaka airport.

Shipping process

How do I get a quote and how fast will I have it?+

Send us the cargo details, the lane, and the date it must arrive. Use the quote form on this site or email us. A real person replies, usually within one working day, with a clear quote. When your volume sits near the FCL and LCL break-even point, we send both numbers without being asked.

What is sea-air freight and when should I use it?+

Your cargo sails from Chattogram to a hub such as Colombo or Dubai, then flies the rest of the way. It reaches Europe, the USA, or Canada in roughly 10 to 18 days and costs at least 25% less than full air in peak season. Use it when the ocean schedule can no longer make your deadline but full air would eat the margin.

Should I ship FCL or LCL?+

The rule of thumb: below roughly 13 cubic meters, shared space (LCL) usually wins. Above 15, a full container (FCL) usually wins. In between, compare both quotes, because rates move. Fragile cargo and tight deadlines push the answer toward FCL earlier.

How early should I book in peak season?+

As early as you can, and at least two to three weeks before the cargo ready date. Feeder space out of Chattogram is the first thing that tightens when volumes rise. Early bookings also give us room to protect your hub connection.

Documentation

What documents do I need to export from Bangladesh?+

The core set: commercial invoice, packing list, and the transport document (bill of lading or airway bill). Depending on the goods and the destination, add a certificate of origin, inspection or test certificates, and bank documents if payment runs on a letter of credit. We check every document before filing, so errors are caught early instead of at the gate.

What is the difference between an MBL and an HBL?+

The Master Bill of Lading (MBL) is issued by the shipping line. The House Bill of Lading (HBL) is issued by the forwarder to you. The HBL lets us consolidate cargo and control the shipment on your behalf, and it is the document you will usually work with day to day.

Do you handle customs clearance yourselves?+

Yes, on both ends of the journey where we operate, and through vetted partners elsewhere. Our promise on documents is simple: no late documentation fee, and if something is missing you hear it from us first, with time to fix it.

Payments and charges

What will my quote include, and what can surprise me later?+

Our quotes itemize the freight, the origin charges, and the destination charges we can see at booking time. The honest answer about surprises: the usual culprits are storage, demurrage, and detention, which arise when cargo or containers sit longer than the free time allows. We flag the free-time terms on every quote so you know the clock before it starts.

What are demurrage and detention?+

Demurrage is rent for a container sitting inside the port beyond its free days. Detention is rent for a container kept outside the port beyond its free days, for example at your warehouse during unpacking. Both are charged by the shipping line per container per day. The cure is planning: clear fast, unpack fast, return the box.

Tracking

How do I track my shipment?+

Use the Track Shipment tool on this site. Enter your bill of lading number, and we detect the carrier and take you to their official tracking page. If your number is a KWT house bill and the carrier page cannot find it, contact us and we trace it the same day.

What happens if my container misses its connection at the hub?+

This is exactly why we monitor every container at Colombo, Singapore, Port Klang, and Tanjung Pelepas. If a connection is at risk, we know before the mother vessel sails and we work the alternatives, such as the next fastest service or a different hub. You get told what happened and what we did about it, not silence.
